We've been lucky enough over the past few days to see some of the most beautiful landscapes in America... we stopped off in Missoula, Montana for a day and went swimming, record shopping, eating at a *really* nice cafe called Dauphine's... then we drove through Idaho into Washington state which was incredibly beautiful. Sasquatch was a really fun experience. It's always funny playing in daylight and outside, and we had some technical problems but in the end it went well. It was great getting to see Grizzly Bear again, and of course Arcade fire... and Bjork who I've been wanting to see for a long time. It was amazing seeing her play Joga, and that song about throwing things off the edge of a cliff right on the edge of the gorge. The brass arrangements were incredible.
Portland was good too, we did what we always do as soon as we get there which is take a trip to Powell's bookstore. Then we got some really good Stumptown coffee. The Schnitzer hall was really beautiful and the audience was nice to us. Best of all, Tender Forever finally made it, having got her visa, so we'll be playing together at the LA Troubadour soon.
Then from Portland we had another really beautiful drive through Oregon, to Yreka, California, a small town where we had half a day off and got to go swimming again.
Our friend Geraldine is doing a blog following us on tour, for Les Inrockuptibles, so if you read french go and take a look, or if not just go and look at the pictures of Sasquatch:
